A hard pothole or curb hit can knock a chunk out of a rim, usually on the lip. You don’t always need a new wheel. Houston Wheel Repair rebuilds the missing area with alloy metal, then shapes and refinishes it so the rim looks whole again.
How we fix a missing piece
- Inspect. We check how big the missing area is, where it is, and whether the wheel is also bent or cracked.
- Rebuild. We weld alloy metal into the missing area to build it back up.
- Shape. We grind and smooth the new metal to match the shape of the rim.
- Refinish. We paint or refinish the area to match the rest of your wheel.
- Check. We make sure the wheel holds air before you pick it up.
When a missing piece can’t be fixed
If the damage is too big, or it is in a spot where a repair would not be safe, we will tell you. We offer refurbished rims if your wheel can’t be repaired.
